Why was my payment declined?
If your payment for 7ART was declined, it means the transaction could not be successfully approved or completed.
This can happen with a new purchase or when 7ART attempts to process a subscription renewal. In many cases, checking your payment details or contacting your bank can help resolve the issue.
Why can a payment be declined?
A payment may be declined for several reasons, including:
- Insufficient funds or a payment limit
- Incorrect or outdated card details
- An expired card
- Online or international payments being restricted
- A security check from your bank
- The transaction being declined by your card issuer or payment provider
Because the final authorization is handled by your bank or payment provider, 7ART may not always be able to see the exact reason a payment was declined.
What should I try?
If your payment does not go through:
1. Check that your payment details are correct.
2. Make sure your card is active and has sufficient funds available.
3. Check whether your bank allows online and international transactions.
4. Try the payment again after confirming the details.
5. If it continues to fail, contact your bank or card issuer and ask whether the transaction is being blocked.
You can also try another supported payment method if one is available to you.
My subscription renewal payment failed — what happens next?
If a recurring subscription payment is unsuccessful, 7ART may continue trying to process the renewal during a 7-day retry period.
During this period, additional payment attempts may be made automatically using the payment method connected to your subscription.
If one of these attempts succeeds, your renewal payment will be completed and your subscription can continue normally.
If the payment remains unsuccessful throughout the retry period, your subscription may not renew successfully.
For more information about recurring subscriptions, see How does my 7ART subscription and renewal work?
Why am I seeing another payment attempt?
If an earlier subscription renewal payment was declined, a later attempt may be part of the 7-day retry period rather than a separate new purchase.
This means you may see more than one payment attempt associated with the same renewal while 7ART is trying to complete the scheduled subscription payment.
Was I charged if the payment was declined?
A declined payment normally means the payment was not successfully completed.
However, your bank may sometimes display a temporary pending authorization after a payment attempt.
A pending authorization is not necessarily a completed charge. If the payment is not captured, the hold is normally released according to your bank’s processing times.
For more information about pending authorizations and completed payments, see Why do I see multiple charges from 7ART?
What payment methods can I use?
7ART currently supports:
- Payment cards
- Apple Pay
For more information, see What payment methods does 7ART accept?
Why can’t I pay from my country?
Payment availability can sometimes depend on your country, bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
If your payment is repeatedly declined, contact your bank first to check whether the transaction is being restricted.
If your bank confirms that there is no restriction and your payment still fails, contact our support team so we can help investigate.
Still having trouble?
If your payment continues to fail after checking with your bank, contact our support team and provide:
- The email address associated with your 7ART account
- The amount you were trying to pay
- The currency
- The approximate date and time of the payment attempt
- A screenshot of the error message, if available
For your security, do not send your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details.
